To educate the present and younger generations, the TikTok trend "Museo de Filipino" catches the public's eye with videos depicting a chilling yet educational reminder of our history and what our country has been through.
The challenge was initiated by several Filipino TikTok creators last October 16, 2020, who made Point-of-view contents of prominent Filipino heroes or known stories of crime and justice in the Philippines.
Its goal is to educate the present and younger generations with the country's history and current national issues.
Each TikTok video features an on-and-off switch which when turned "on", the inanimate characters such as notable figures, move and tell their story along with the track of IV of Spades titled "Bata, Dahan-Dahan".
Among the entries of this trend were short videos of Lapu-Lapu, the late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, Jose Rizal and his fictional characters, Maria Clara and Sisa, Gregorio del Pilar, Andres Bonifacio, Gabriela Silang, Antonio Luna, student Kian Delos Santos, Pepsi Paloma and even human rights worker Reina Mae Nasino.
Netizens expressed on twitter that this trend should be continued as it can open the eyes of many Filipinos in different ways.
The hashtag #MuseodeFilipino currently has 13.4M views on TikTok.
