Weekday usage of Karaoke's, now prohibited

Mandaue City and Municipality of Santander bans karaoke use on weekdays in pursuant to the implementation of the anti-noise policy.

Mayor Marites Buscato, on October 12, 2020 issued an executive order (EO) to disallow the use of karaoke machines and other sound-generating equipment on weekdays.

On the other hand, Jonas Cortes, the incumbent mayor of Mandaue City, also issued Executive Order No.83-C series of 2020 which prohibits the use of karaoke on weekdays for it causes disturbance in the community.

Cebu City mayor Edgardo Labella has also directed the City Legal Office (CLO) to compile all ordinances that prohibit noise in residential areas.

The prohibition of karaoke machines is for the students who are taking their online classes as well as to the employees who are working from home.
