'Stop acting like a brat' – Robredo’s lawyers to Bongbong Marcos

Vice President Leni Robredo’s lawyers called out former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in a statement today, November 9, 2020, saying he should “stop acting like a brat” after pressing inhibition to the Supreme Court (SC) justice handling his case questioning his defeat during the 2016 elections.

Lawyers Beng Sardillo and Emil Marañon told Marcos on Monday that he can no longer do anything he desires and act like a brat as his father, former president Ferdinand Marcos, has long been overthrown from power.

“May we remind Mr. Marcos that it’s already 2020. This is no longer the period of his father’s reign of terror where they can do anything they want. Stop acting like a spoiled brat who cries when he doesn’t get his candy,” they said in a statement.

The former senator had filed a petition for Supreme Court Associate Justice Marvic Leonen to inhibit from his election protest, alleging fraud to Robredo, and claims that justice will be elusive with Leonen in charge due to the its biasness in standing against his family.

Sardino and Marañon said that they are are not surprised of such act from him as they consider it Mr. Marcos' trademark.

"If he doesn’t get what he wants, he moves to attack the integrity of an institution or a person to force them to give in to his desires,” they added.

Last 2016, Marcos and Robredo had a tight battle for the vice presidency but the latter won by over 263,000 votes.
