Sinulog 2021 to push through despite limited budget and activities

The annual Sinulog celebration will push through in 2021 but is expected to have a lower budget and limited activities compared to last year due to the pandemic, as confirmed by Cebu City Vice Mayor Mike Rama.

The budget cut was mandated because the city's economy is not in a good condition due to the lockdown that lasted for months.

The planned activities for the celebration are the Sinulog sa SRP, Sinulog sa Dakbayan, Sinulog sa Kabataan, and Sinulog sa Barangay but are still being reviewed.

However, the prizes this year are reduced and will not be as big as the previous years' prizes. Out of town continents will no longer need to segregate money for travel expenses as the planned virtual parade is expected to push through.

This year marks the 500th year of the arrival of the image of the child Jesus in the country.
