‘Homeless Berta’ finds a new abode

The viral homeless man, “Berta”, has finally found a new home at Safe Haven rehabilitation center where he is now secured from the danger of the streets yesterday, October 26, 2020.

Safe Haven rehabilitation center assured that they will give Berta the right treatments needed for his recovery and to help him start anew.

Emmanuel Llenos, the center director of Safe Haven said in an interview with CDN Digital that the initiative of helping Berta came from the suggestion of the JV Hall Safehaven’s Age Care Department Head who used to live in the streets because of his addiction.

Llenos added that their decision to help isn’t new to them as they had already rescued and helped a lot of people.

“We just decided to help, which is not new to us at the center. A lot have already been rescued and helped to recover,” he said.

For a long time, Berta can now have a much deserved rest.

“He has been very exhausted with life in the streets as a mendicant. He has been sleeping since last night and hopefully, when he wakes up, we’d to do an interview to know his immediate concerns.” said Llenos.

Along with this project, they are opening doors for donations as they admit that it wouldn’t be easy to sustain and address the needs for Berta’s recovery.

If you wish to take part and help in Berta’s recovery project, you can message Emmanuel Llenos on his facebook account.

Berta became viral by his words of expression regarding life and boys.
