The Department of Health (DOH) motivated new doctors with incentive programs to stay and serve in the country.
“Meron na tayong enough incentive programs para sa ating mga doctor at hiihikayat natin silang manatili dito, magsilbi sa ating bayan at tulungan ang gobyerno para po tayo ay magkaroon ng mas maayos at robust na health system,” the Health Undersecretary, Maria Rosario Vergeire said.
Vergeire also extended her compliments to the 3,538 new doctors.
“We would like to congratulate you, coming from the Department of Health. Nire-recognize natin value ng ating mga doctor and the rest of our healthcare workers,” she said.
According to an announcement by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), 3,538 out of the 4,704 who took the Physicians Licensure Examinations passed this month.
“Ang atin pong ginagawa ngayon, we have already standardized our salary in government para maging competitive ang mga sweldo ng ating mga doktor dito sa gobyerno,” Vergeire said.
Moreover, she added that there is a wide array of training programs in the hospitals which could interest the doctors to remain in the country for training and not abroad.
