The OCTA Research team has listed 18 local government units (LGU) that are considered at “high-risk” for COVID-19 due to high daily cases, attack, and hospital occupancy.
Based on the monitoring report by the OCTA Research team dated October 26 and released on media today, the following areas were described as high-risk or areas of concern:
Metro Manila -Pasay -Makati -Pasig -Mandaluyong Rest of Luzon -Baguio City, Benguet -Itogon, Benguet -Calamba, Laguna -Angono, Rizal -Cainta, Rizal -Taytay, Rizal -Lucena, Quezon -Ilagan, Isabela -Batangas City, Batangas -General Trias, Cavite
Visayas -Iloilo City, Iloilo -San Carlos City, Negros Occidental
Mindanao -Davao City, Davao Del Sur -Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte
Due to the increasing number of cases, the OCTA Research advised concerned local governments to further tighten efforts in testing, contact tracing, and isolation.
According to the group, a more aggressive and effective localized lockdown with tighter border controls are needed to prevent further transmission of the said virus.
