106-year-old man beats COVID-19

A 106-year-old man from Baguio City recovered from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and was released from the hospital yesterday, October 20, 2020.


City Health Services Officer, Dr. Rowena Galpo said that the patient was released based on the clinical evaluation and risk assessment of his attending physician at Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center yesterday.


The hospital said he tested positive of the virus on October 9 and although he exhibited mild symptoms, he was admitted because of his age for 13 days.

According to the Baguio City Health Office, he is the oldest Filipino to have been infected and recovered from COVID-19.

Baguio currently has a total of 1, 704 COVID-19 cases.
