Them Who Conquer The Storm: A Tribute

We honor the real-life “avengers” who assembled in saving those who were in peril when Typhoon Ulysses snapped its finger. While not all heroes have been acknowledged, the following people deserve to be recognized for they have crossed the boundaries of their job title by braving the dangerous waters of the flooded communities in Luzon. Without these selfless people, rebuilding is difficult. The men and women who show extraordinary actions are a beacon of hope, starters of new beginning. Their strength is what makes the society stand again.

Neri and Randy

These are the photos of neighbors and childhood friends Neri Abalos and Randy Valdes who sacrificed their lives by saving a trapped mother and her son inside their home in Alcala, Cagayan. The two were electrocuted and swept away by strong water current while trying to bring the mother and son to safety. Two days later, Neri and Randy were found. Dead.
