The hands of an educator- builders of society

As we commemorate the day of our educators and the services they render to the people, we also give them praise for continually pursuing to teach despite the pandemic.

Among them is Ma'am Cheerie S. Dellegue, a Grade 1 teacher at Labogon Elementary School, ready to be of service to the children.

With a bigger percentage of students who opt to study through modular and blended learning in public elementary school, Dellegue finds it challenging to teach her grade 1 students how to read so she thought of ways to continue the learning despite the limitations.

Cheerie ventured in recording herself on video while teaching so that her students will still be able to feel like she is with them.

"Excited, at the same time worried sad ko about sa atong situation karun but mao man gud ni atong job so let's do our duty." she said when asked how she felt with classes officially starting.

Dellegue added that even though we are experiencing a global pandemic, there is no need to stop education or discourage learners as the Department of Education (DEPED) provided various learning modalities that will make it possible and safe for students, parents, and teachers alike.

"Para sa bata, para sa bayan, sulong edukalidad." said Dellegue upon concluding the interview.

Teachers have been undergoing virtual training, webinars, and workshops long before the official start of classes as preparation.
